Anina H. Monte is a Partner at Martin Clearwater & Bell <span class="text-llp">LLP</span>, where she focuses her practice on defending medical professionals, hospitals, nursing homes and other health care delivery systems against all manners of professional liability and medical malpractice allegations involving her clients’ practices, premises, and contractual relationships. She has practiced extensively throughout the New York metropolitan area, securing defense verdicts in medical malpractice actions and favorable outcomes on behalf of her clients before the supreme and appellate courts in the tri-state area, as well as in federal court.

A tenacious and seasoned attorney, Anina has amassed broad experience in defending clients both in court and in negotiating settlements in cases involving complex issues across the full spectrum of medical specialties. Her breadth of knowledge and trial background allow her to develop each case with an acute sense of what may be necessary for success before a jury, while keeping the client’s business interests and risk in mind. Additionally, she spends considerable time assisting clients with risk management issues, and has worked to resolve Medicare audit matters/recoupment attempts through non-litigious avenues. She has also represented client interests before the Office of Professional Medical Conduct and in mediation efforts.

Anina received her B.A. from the State University of New York at Albany, with a foucs on political science and biology. She earned her J.D. at Albany Law School, where she had the honor of serving as the State’s first legal aid to the newly formed Attorney General’s Health Care Investigations Bureau. She was also recognized and inducted into the Order of the Barristers and served on the Moot Court Board.
