Prior to joining MCB, Elvin was a staff attorney specializing in personal injury cases at a New York area law firm. He consulted and advised clients; prepared legal documents, which included pleadings, and orders to show cause; and made court appearances in various jurisdictions. He also served as a staff attorney for Immigration Legal Services of Long Island, handling day-to-day court appearances for clients with asylum applications. Specific responsibilities included functioning as lead criminal defense attorney; writing various motions; and handling family court order of protection hearings, along with child custody and visitation matters.

Prior to these staff positions, Elvin served as an Assistant District Attorney for the Suffolk County District Attorney’s Office. Functioning as a prosecutor for the District Court Bureau in Suffolk County, he handled a case load in excess of 300, and was selected as the special prosecutor of misdemeanors for the hate crimes task force as well as assigned to the Veterans Court Part during his tenure. Through these invaluable experiences, Elvin has obtained deep and thorough exposure to all facets of legal draftsmanship, caseload management, and the litigation process itself.

Elvin served in both Okinawa, Japan and Atlanta, Georgia as a member of the United States Marine Corps. He worked as an aviation operations specialist, specifically handling flight operations and scheduling for Marine Corps fixed wing aircraft and helicopter squadrons. Additionally, Elvin contributed to relief efforts during the 2004 tsunami in Thailand and the 2005 Hurricane Katrina in New Orleans.

Elvin received his B.A. from Stony Brook University in 2016, graduating cum laude and making Dean’s List in 2011 and 2015. He earned his J.D. from Touro College Jacob D. Fuchsberg Law Center in 2020, where he was a valedictorian and graduated summa cum laude. He is admitted to practice in New York.
