Prior to joining MCB, Shannon held an associate attorney position at a New York area law firm specializing in criminal defense. There, she provided legal defense for clients facing misdemeanor and felony charges, advising on strategic defense approaches and appearing in court on their behalf. Specific responsibilities included legal research; drafting and filing motions and briefs; investigating immigration consequences for prospective plea deals; working directly with District Attorneys; conducting pre-trial suppression hearings; and cross-examining witnesses. Prior to this position, she served as a paralegal at the same firm, gaining detailed exposure to all aspects of the legal process. Earlier still, she served in multiple legal internships and externships, acquiring invaluable experience in key legal areas such as research, draftsmanship, discovery, evidence protocol, and the trial process itself.

Shannon received her HE Access to Law Diploma from New College Nottingham, UK, in 2015. She then earned her LLB with American Legal Studies at Birmingham City University, UK, in 2019, graduating with First Class Honors. Finally, she received her J.D. from New York Law School in 2022, serving as President of the First Generation Professionals Society and earning a merit-based Dean’s Scholarship. She is admitted to practice in New York, and the United States District Courts for the Eastern and Southern Districts of New York.
