Employment Update: De Blasio Signs Law Prohibiting Credit Checks for Most Job Applicants

On Wednesday, May 6, 2015, New York City Mayor, Bill De Blasio, signed into law a bill (261-A) that prohibits employers from using credit checks on most job applicants, citing the practice’s  tendency to have a disproportionate impact on minorities and low-income individuals.
