Ryan T. Cox & Ruth A. Ragan
Ryan joined MCB as a Junior Associate in 2011. At MCB, Ryan has been involved in a number of practice areas, including medical malpractice, dental and podiatric malpractice, construction site accidents, general liability, professional liability and employment law. Ryan has experience defending clients in federal court litigation for cases involving complex neurosurgical procedures. In 2015 and 2016, Ryan was recognized by Super Lawyers as a “Rising Star” in the area of medical malpractice defense in the New York Metro area. He has lectured to clients on liability issues and has authored articles in the Firm’s publications and in MD News. Ryan obtained his J.D. from Syracuse University College of Law and a B.A. from the University of Central Florida. He is admitted to practice in New York and the US District Courts for the Southern and Eastern Districts of New York, and is a member of the NYC Bar Association.
Ruth began her legal career at MCB as a Summer Associate in 2001. After graduating from law school, she returned as a member of MCB’s Class of 2002. Ruth left the Firm in 2007 to move in-house in the insurance industry and worked for AIG, Professional Indemnity Agency and Freedom Specialty Insurance Company handling employment practices liability, personal injury, intellectual property, and professional liability matters as a claims attorney. Ruth returned to MCB in 2014 as a Senior Associate in the Firm’s White Plains office. Ruth has worked on medical malpractice, health care law and employment and labor matters throughout her career at MCB. Ruth is a member of the Westchester Women’s Bar Association and the Monroe County Bar Association. She received her B.A. from Ohio University, her M.S.W. from Fordham University and her J.D. from St. John’s University School of Law. She is admitted to practice in New York and New Jersey, as well as the United States District Courts for the Southern and Eastern Districts of New York and the District Court of New Jersey.
